Neighbourhood Policing Week: Working Together for a Safer Community

As part of Neighbourhood Policing Week, we’re proud to highlight the collaborative work taking place to keep our community safe and connected.

As always, our Town Beat Neighbourhood team will be out on joint patrols with the Town Ambassadors, strengthening our visible presence in key areas and engaging with residents and businesses. These patrols help us share important safety messages, offer reassurance, and respond to community concerns in real time.

Today, we’ve also carried out targeted weapon sweeps in public spaces, working proactively to remove dangerous items from our streets and prevent crime before it happens. These efforts are part of our ongoing commitment to tackling violence and ensuring everyone feels safe in their neighbourhood.

We were also honoured to be present in Jubilee Square for the start of Armed Forces Week, joining the community in the town centre for the raising of the Armed Forces flag. This ceremony was a mark of respect and appreciation for the dedication, service, and sacrifices made by our Armed Forces personnel past and present. It was a privilege to stand alongside residents and partners in showing our support.

Thank you to all our partners and community members for your continued support. Together, we’re building a stronger, safer town
