Appeal launched after man is robbed in Derby

We are appealing for information after a man was robbed in Derby.

The incident happened at about 3.50pm on Thursday 5 June on the green between Cut Lane and St Mary’s Wharf Road.

The victim had arranged to meet someone at the green to sell them a pair of trainers.

But when he arrived he was approached by three boys or young men all with their faces covered.

They threatened the victim and ran off with his shoes and sunglasses.

One of those involved – a 16-year-old boy has since been arrested and charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon. He pleaded guilty and was given a two-year detention and training order.

Officers are still investigating the matter in relation to the other two suspects involved in the incident.

We believe there were numerous potential witnesses walking through or past the green around the time of the incident and we are appealing for them to come forward.
