School Input on 'Summer Safety' at Saint Philip Howard CVA, Glossop


Glossop SNT - School Engagement/Input 

 

PCSO Buller from Glossop YET (Youth Engagement Team) attended Saint Philip Howard Catholic Voluntary Academy, Sunlaws St, Glossop today, Monday 23rd June.

We had been invited to complete an input/assembly on ‘Summer Safety’ for their Year 8 students, this morning.

🗣️ We presented the following 

🔹Outdoor Safety (Litter/BBQ's/Livestock etc).

🔹Camping Safety (Candles - Fire ‘Stop, drop,roll’, valuables).

🔹Water Safety (Cold Water Shock - Debris - ‘Float to Live’ video  & Never enter the water to help someone else in dificulty. (Call 999 immediately).

🔹Derelict Buildings & Building Sites (unsafe,drops,machinery, toxic waste, unsafe electrics etc).

🔹Railways ( You can't out run a train, eletric lines/power, use appropriate crossings, its illegal to trespass on a railway).

🔹Always Keep your mobile fully charged and always tell someone where your going!

🔹 What 3 Words App (what3words is an easy way to identify precise locations. Every 3m square has been given a unique combination of three words: a what3words address).

We also discussed the law around E-Scooter's and E-Bikes 🛴 🚲
