Tickets issued during patrols today.

Today officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team have been in the Stanton in the Peak and Birchover area again along with Civilian Parking Enforcement Officers and issued fixed penalty notices to vehicles who had parked on the Clearway even when there are signs saying not to do so.

The Rules of a Clearway are:

• Clearways are stretches of road where it is illegal to stop your car for any reason at any time other than in an emergency.

• Clearway signs are often misunderstood - a circular sign showing a red cross on a blue background.

• Clearway signs are in pairs so that you get one at the beginning of a stretch of road and one at the end of that stretch.

• Any car that does stop on a clearway must be pulled completely off the main carriageway so that it does not obstruct traffic in any way.
