Man, 26, charged after officers find 0.5kg of drugs and £10,000 in Aldershot


A man has been charged after officers located approximately half a kilo of suspected Class A drugs and more than £10,000 in Aldershot.

We were called at 10.30pm on Monday 16 June to a report of a potential burglary in progress at a vacant address on Orchard Way.

The landlord called the police after he checked the property and disturbed someone who was inside.

Units from the Hart & Rushmoor District Policing Team (DPT) quickly attended the scene and arrested a man at 10.36pm on Ash Road following a short foot pursuit.

Approximately half a kilo of suspected Class A drugs, a large amount of cannabis and more than £10,000 in cash was located and seized following a search.

Following an investigation by the Northern Area Crime Team, Arlind Rrenga, 26, of no fixed abode, has been charged with:

- Possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A
- Possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class B
- Acquiring / using / possessing criminal property

He is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court today (18 June).
