YOU SAID, WE DID - ROAD SAFETY


Earlier this year, residents told us road safety was a concern/issue in your area.

 

We did: -  

  • Conducted High Visibility patrols across the areas to deter issues.
  • Completed partnership work with Derbyshire County council (DCC) and Newton Solney Primary school to improve road safety resulting in new road markings being added.
  • Held joint sessions and meetings with local Community Speed watch groups in the area
  • Added road safety posts to our Facebook page/Derbyshire Alert
  • Joint engagement held at Findern Primary school with the head teacher to raise awareness of road safety in the community.
  • Seized E Scooters throughout the area
  • Several drivers were arrested for drink and drug drive offences
  • Road Safety partnership meeting held with DCC in Repton resulting in the school bus drop off/collection point be moved to a safer location.
  • Several vehicles were recovered for having no insurance/ licences as well as a number being recovered for causing an obstruction as well as other driving offences- these have been added to out face book page and Derbyshire alert.

    We did: -

  • High Visibility patrols across the areas to deter issues
  • Targeted plain clothed night patrols in the area
  • Held Vehicle crime prevention events alongside CVS across the area providing free advice and crime prevention items such as signal blocker pouches and van alarms to owners.
  • X2 males were arrested and bailed for: - attempt theft of a HGV and van, theft from a HGV and van and criminal damage to vehicle for offences that occurred in Willington and Findern.
