Police log 175 of 14/06/2025 CCTV at a residential property on Footherley Lane, Shenstone has recorded a suspicious male creeping around their front garden, and then crouching below a window at the front of the house. The person is believed to be carrying a torch but the report suggests it may have been some form of a scanning device. This occurred on the same night as the burglary and theft of a vehicle on Pinfold Hill and the two incidents may be related. This may be opportunist theft whereby the suspect is checking for insecure vehicles or doors that have not been locked. We encourage you to be vigilant and double check you have locked all doors to your property overnight or when you are away from your home, and that any vehicle are secure. Use a Faraday bag for any car key fob that uses passive keyless entry (PKE) pr keyless start/entry systems, especially for modern vehicles from 2015 onwards. These fobs constantly emit a signal that can be intercepted and used in relay thefts. Any fob that lets you unlock or start your car without pressing a button needs to be in a Faraday pouch. Proximity-based keyless systems, which are those cars that unlock when you approach or allows push-button start without inserting the key, are also vulnerable to signal relay attacks. Consider investing in a steering lock as a deterrent. Block cars in where you can and consider the use of parking posts to prevent the removal of a vehicle from your driveway. Please report any suspicious behaviour to the Police and not to individual officers who may well be on rest days or on leave. Thank you . PCSO 25049 Andrea Horsnall | ||||
