Standon Fly Tip - Positive Result

Good Afternoon everyone

I just wanted to notify you about some positive work from your rural NPT team last weekend, some of you might have seen the post on the East Herts Police Facebook page. For those that aren't aware, please see the below.

A Fly Tip incident was reported by a local resident to Police on Saturday 7th June 2025, we attended the scene and managed to use local knowledge and local CCTV to obtain the details of the offending van. We then succeeded to work out the offending vehicles index details. It was from Suffolk, but we could see that it was still active in Hertford and using our systems we got hold of a contact number for the registered owner of the van. They were called and directed to return to the location and collect the sofa. The offender returned, was made to put the sofa into their vehicle, they were issued with a Community Resolution (we couldn’t issue anything else as it was their first offence), but the community resolution was tagged with 2 conditions.
