Community Litter Pick!

Hi Resident,

Wolverhampton City Centre Prepares for Community Litter‑Pick

Local residents, community organisations and West Midlands Police are joining forces for a community litter‑pick in Wolverhampton city centre, working together to keep our public spaces clean, welcoming and inviting.

📅 When & Where

Date: Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th July 2025

Time: 8-9am and 5-6pm

Meeting Point: Lady Wulfruna statue, Civic Centre, Wolverhampton WV1 1SL

The event is open to volunteers of all ages—families, neighbours, and anyone who cares about a cleaner city. All equipment—gloves, grabbers, hi‑vis vests and bags—will be provided, with support from Wolverhampton City Council to collect the waste once the event wraps up. Any attending children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Why It Matters

Despite the Council’s regular cleansing efforts in the city centre—beginning as early as 6 AM daily—periods between cleanings can see litter build up quickly . Community initiatives like this event help fill that gap and allow residents to take direct action in caring for their streets.

Staying Safe & Informed

Wolverhampton Council encourages all participants to follow good safety practices: wear gloves and hi‑vis clothing, avoid hazardous materials (like broken glass), stay aware of traffic, and report anything unsafe to event leaders or the Council . Children must be accompanied by adults.

Get Involved

This is a family‑friendly event that aims to foster civic pride and collective responsibility.

📝 A Few Tips

Dress for the weather—bring sun hats and water, or a waterproof coat if needed.

Wear sturdy footwear suitable for outdoor walking.

Got your own equipment? Feel free to bring it, but rest assured we’ll have enough on-site.

By coming together, we’re not just removing litter—we’re strengthening community bonds, making the city centre a cleaner and safer place for everyone. We look forward to seeing you there on 3rd and 4th July!
