What is Seaside in the City?

“Seaside in the City” is a beloved free, family-friendly pop-up beach festival held in the heart of Wolverhampton. It transforms Victoria Street and Bell Square into a temporary seaside resort right in the city centre—with sand, deckchairs, seaside games, live entertainers, and more .

When & Where

Dates: 29th and 30th August 2025

Time: 10 am to 5 pm each day.

Location: Victoria Street and Bell Square—right at the heart of Wolverhampton city centre.

What to Expect

Here’s a snapshot of the kind of fun awaiting visitors—based on the popular 2024 edition:

Beach setup: A sizeable stretch of sand, deckchairs, giant deck‑chair prop, and a “peep-through” board for beach-style photo fun .

Atmosphere: Themed “sounds of the sea” machines creating waves and seagull ambience .

Children’s entertainment: Face-painting booths (for ages 3+), Punch & Judy puppet shows, cards attendees can meet the event mascot “Claude,” and circus‑skill workshops .

Live music & games: DJ-hosted seaside tunes, games like “Safecracker,” and family-safe prizes—such as gift cards from local businesses .

Chill-out zone: On Sunday, a quieter “street beach” vibe invites relaxation in deckchairs with the relaxing seaside sounds in the background .
