Most customers responded when their electricity supplier requested them to install a smart meter in advance of the planned switch off of the Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS) at the end of June 2025 .

Unfortunately many elderly customer thought the texts, phone calls and e-mails from their supplier were more scam from fraudsters. They have not replied,. In consequence their heating and hot water may stop working. They will, any case, pay more for their electricity. 

Anyone approaching them with a scare story demanded money or emergency access to tix the problem is, however, almost certainly a scammer 
 

Hence the request to Neighbourhood Watch participants to help contact those who have not responded. 

This is to remind you that the Lambeth briefing event for volunteers to visit elderly neighbours to check whether they are affected is at Brixton Recreation Centre, 27 Brixton Station Road, London SW9 8QQ on Thursday 19th June, 10.00 - 14.00 . 

I plan to attend and will also be available to discuss plans for relaunch of the Lambeth Neighbourhood watch Association. These include local linkages with Met Engage (due to be extended for cover Lambeth on June 22nd) and Travel Guardian (extension of Railway Guardian to cover all travel and public spaces with bus travel information, maps of safe havens etc.), plus help with volunteers and funding for police supported summer programmes, including the Lambeth Summer Camp
