At the recent Partners And Community Together meeting, concerns were raised about the anti-social use of vehicles in the evening around the Castlefield area of the Deansgate ward. Examples were raised where vehicles have been flagrantly ignoring traffic regulations, speeding and totally disregarding signs such as the No-Entry, for example, on Tonman Street. It seems that “professional” drivers were the main offenders for such behaviour. This type of driving creates a dangerous environment for other road users and lends to the large number of collisions that result in death and serious injury within Greater Manchester. Tonight the Castlefield NBO, PC Riaz, has been out and about combatting these types of behaviour. He has issued a number of Traffic Offence Reports and reported several private-hire vehicles to the relevant licensing authorities. I make no apologies for the Neighbourhood officers proactively working to address the issues raised by our communities and the team will continue to respond to concerns raised. Help to improve your community by reporting ASB. By doing so, you are helping to make your community a safer & more enjoyable place. To make a report to Greater Manchester Police, you can use LiveChat or online reporting at gmp.police.uk. You can also call 101. Always dial 999 in an emergency.
