Seamer Horse Fair

The annual Horse Fair is held on the outskirts of Seamer, near Scarborough and traditionally attracts members of the travelling community.

This year’s Horse Fair site will be the same field as has been used in previous years, located to the north of the B1261 between Crossgates and Seamer near to the junction with Stoney Haggs Road. The site is a large field with adequate capacity for those attending and North Yorkshire Council are responsible for the management of the site.

The site will be open from Saturday 12th July 2025 and will close at 1800hrs on Tuesday 15th July 2025

As you may be aware, travellers often arrive in the weeks leading up to the Horse Fair, leading to travellers accessing private land to set up unofficial sites.

If you experience this issue and you are happy to do so, please formally request that they leave. If this is ignored, contact the police via the 101 system who may be able to assist you in moving them on. If you have any other concerns relating to anti-social behaviour or crime, again please contact 101 or 999 in an emergency.
