There has been an increase of builders attending addresses and pressuring people into letting them do work. If you feel under pressure tell them you will contact the police; do not let them in your house and do not give any bank details. Even if they are genuine, they should not bully you into letting them do work. This is highly unprofessional and not the normal way contractors conduct their business. If they ever become aggressive and you feel threatened ring 999. Some of these ‘contractors' will climb on your roof and remove tiles etc to make it look like it needs repairing. Real contractors don't usually go house to house and are available on the internet where you can do your research before you choose. |
