Get involved! See what happens in custody and make a difference

Dear Resident,

We have an exciting opportunity for you to get involved in policing, see what happens in police custody, and make a difference to support and improve justice locally.

As part of Volunteers Week, the Police and Crime Commissioner is asking you to get involved by joining one of our two volunteer schemes:

  • Appropriate Adults (AAs), who provide support to a vulnerable adult while they are in custody, such as during interviews, searches and drugs tests
  • Independent Custody Visitors (ICVs), who make unannounced visits to custody to ensure the welfare of those detained and make recommendations for improvements
  • Both schemes are now open to recruitment at Leamington and Nuneaton Justice Centres.

So if you, or someone you know, is over 18, you can find out more about this opportunity, find our contact details to speak to someone about the schemes, or apply to become an AA and/or ICV, on our website: warwickshire-pcc.gov.uk/helpingyou/volunteer-schemes
