Volunteers' Week - Information Event - Ikea, Loanhead : Thu 05 Jun 10:00

Dear Resident,

This year marks the 41st anniversary of Volunteers’ Week, taking place from 2–8 June 2025.

Neighbourhood Watch Scotland is proud to join thousands of charities and voluntary organisations across the country in recognising the incredible contributions of volunteers.

As part of our activities this week, the Neighbourhood Watch Scotland (NWS) team will be at:

📍 Ikea, Costkea Way, Loanhead, Midlothian EH20 9BY
🗓 Thursday 5 June
🕙 10am – 1pm

As well as providing information about Neighbourhood Watch Scotland we will have a variety of community safety leaflets available, designed to help keep your neighbourhood informed.

If you're available, we’d love for you to come along — it would be a pleasure to see you there!

If you're a Neighbourhood Watch coordinator, please let us know when you stop by. We’d love to hear more about your work and thank you in person. The difference you make every day through your support, acts of kindness, and efforts to connect people is truly extraordinary.

Additionally, Neighbourhood Watch Scotland is partnering with E.ON Next to help reach communities most likely to be affected by the upcoming Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS) switch-off on 30 June 2025. To assist below is some information about the RTS switch off, including web links.

Energy Advice:

Some types of electricity meter (regardless of energy provider) need to be urgently upgraded.  The Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS) switch off is happening on 30 June 2025 and will affect households using an older electricity meter to heat their home and hot water. The implications of not upgrading the meter could mean that the heating and hot water may not work properly. Customers could find that they cannot switch on or switch off their system and could incur an increased bill as a result.

It is crucial that affected customers arrange for a smart meter to be fitted before the switch off on 30 June 2025.

If you’re an E.ON Next customer and unsure whether RTS affects you visit the E.ON next Website at:
