PCSO Monthly Ward Update Welcome to your monthly Hangleton & Knoll-Ward update by beat PCSO Sharon Baker
Ward Update Currently some key concerns in the area include: Smashed windscreens Drug dealing Stolen moped/motorbike
Police have received a couple of reports in relation to cracked windscreens on motor vehicles, it is unknown if these were deliberately caused, as they were both in different locations and there are no witnesses or cctv opportunities. Drug dealing reports have been received in one of our local parks. Patrols have taken place at the location mentioned but nothing suspicious has seen. A couple of reports have been made in relation to motorbikes being stolen. One was recovered nearby shortly after the report was made.
When reporting stolen items and criminal damage, it would be helpful if you could take a look around to see if there is any cctv/Ring Doorbells nearby which may have captured the incident. Police will be able to request the footage which would be a viable line of enquiry. Please report any drug dealing in a timely fashion, giving as many details as you can, descriptions of those involved dealing are really important and will aid us with future patrols.
Community Meetings and Ward Days The Hangleton & Knoll Community meeting will be held on the 11th June 2025, from 10:30 – 12:00hrs. Goldstone Primary School Summer Fair is the 20th June 2025 – 3pm - 5:30pm hours. Myself and a colleague will be attending for the duration, other commitments allowing.
Crime Prevention Advice
A recent report (not in our area) was in relation to a male claiming to be from Southern Water, knocking and entering residents properties and taking ‘water’ samples. The male had a uniform on and a sign written van, although when the resident spoke to Southern Water, they claimed not to have any operatives in the area on that day. We would suggest, if you have an unplanned utility worker call at your property, ask them for their identity card, or name and office they work from, leave them outside the property and call up the company involved to check they are legitimate. You can never be too careful. If the operative refuses to give you any identity, leave them outside and call the Police. If you are worried about your neighbours becoming victims, we can conduct a leaflet drop for awareness and advice.
Incidents of Note / Any other Business There are no further incidents of note this month and we have not had any further reports of residents having their front doors knocked in the early hours of the morning. The crime figures for May have fluctuated in relation to the figures for this year, with thefts and anti-social behaviour remaining high. Some of this is linked to the reporting thefts from local stores and the asb around e-bike riding. There were no reported burglaries for this month, which is good news for our area.
