Dear Lower Morden

Thank you for taking the time to sign up. We are currently at around 280 registrations but this is only 10% of what we had on the old platform, so please help us by spreading the word to your neighbours who can sign up on https://www.metengage.co.uk (if they receive an error they have to wait a few seconds and the page will refresh automatically).

Recent News

We had a busy couple of weeks completing two case files.

In January the victim was delivering leaflets along a road in Lower Morden, he posted a leaflet through the defendant’s letterbox whose dog was sat by the door and bit him on the hand. Around two weeks later another victim had their hand bitten, which required plastic surgery to treat, in the same circumstances. The case file was sent to the CPS and last week they advised two charges against Section 3 Dangerous Dogs Act.

In April the victim was walking her dog and the defendant was walking her XL Bulldog nearby. As the dogs neared each other, the XL Bulldog attacked the victim’s dog causing puncture wounds to it’s hind leg. We carried out a number of enquiries to identify the defendant and visited a number of XL Bulldog owners in the local area. Once identified the defendant was interviewed and she gave her dog voluntarily to Police whilst we investigated the incident. A Police evidential review officer in the dog section authorised two charges against Section 1 and 3 Dangerous Dogs Act.

Lower Morden Equestrian Centre had a number of fence panels damaged and staff showed us a nearby makeshift camp deep in a wooded area inside Sir Joseph Hood playing fields. We visited it over the following shifts and came across a group. Some of them were searched for various matters and moved on from the area. As there was no CCTV or witnesses to the damage the group could not be linked to the incidents, however their parents were spoken to and so far we haven’t received any further reports. The council were also requested to clear and secure the area. If you have information which can help us identify those who caused the damage please let us know.
