Doorstep Scam Alert

Staffordshire Police have received a report of a male knocking on doors and asking if the occupant wants their gutters cleaned for a price of £60, when payment is received the male does NOT properly clean them as he was paid to do, then either asks for more money for claimed broken items or just leaves.

Unfortunately two properties in the Bilbrook area have fell victim to this doorstep scam, so we are urging people not to accept any work from any claimed tradesman that are knocking on your door saying that work needs to be done. This is a tactic often used by door knocking scammers to scare people into paying upfront.
