Dear Resident, This week has been a very busy week for the team with Operation Sceptre taking place. Each day our officers and PCSOs were involved in different activities from Arrest attempts of offenders involved with knife crime, responsible retailer visits (visits to stores that may sell knives to provide advice etc.) and crime prevention talks to groups/community members. Our officers became involved in the area search for a male involved in the attempted theft of a motorcycle. After a chase and an area search the male was located and arrested. Whilst at the hospital with the prisoner the two officers were able to foil an attempt to steal another motorcycle on the hospital grounds by a another would be thief.
This Vauxhall Astra was seized this week for its involvement in crime. PCSOs conducting enquiries into a disorder were able to identify the vehicles involved. One of the vehicles was then located the next day abandoned with the number plates removed.
That was not the only chase our officers have been involved in this week. This BMW made off from the officers after they signalled the vehicle to stop. The occupants of the vehicle jumped out and ran. Officers gave chase and one of the males were arrested. The vehicle was being driven was SORN so should not have been on the road, it also have no insurance. Vehicle was subsequently seized. This Nissan Navara was located by our officers parked in a small residential car park by the canal. After checking the vehicle, the officers were able to confirm that it had been stolen so the vehicle was recovered. Finally, This Volvo was stopped by officers whilst on routine patrol after something drew their attention. The vehicle was fitted with a rather interesting rear window. The vehicle was stopped and it was identified that the driver was disqualified from driving. The driver was arrested and the vehicle was seized. Crime Figures.
