Fixed Penalty notices issued today following patrols

🚨Attention Drivers: Parking on a Solid White Lines system is Against the Law! 🚨

We’ve been noticing an increase of vehicles illegally parking on solid white lines in the Grindleford and Alport area near Youlgrave.

🛑This is not only dangerous, but also a traffic violation that will lead to fines, points on your license and potentially the vehicle being seized without notice.

Here’s why it matters:

✔️Safety First: Parking on solid white lines can block traffic flow, causing congestion and potential accidents. These lines are marked near dangerous bends for a reason!

✔️Legal Consequences: It’s illegal to park on these lines, and you risk receiving a ticket, which comes with a fine and a points penalty to your license, with some cases even leading to having the vehicle towed.

During patrols today officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team issued fixed penalty notices to vehicles for contravening the white line systems on the B6521, Main Road, Nether Padley in Grindleford.

The vehicles that were issued a Fixed Penalty Notice today were parked near a sign which advised them that parking at the location was an offence. At location there were other places available to park with no restrictions and safely.

Sadly, even with these signs in place motorists still commit offences putting themselves and other road users at risk.

This is the reason that the Safer Neighbourhood Team will continue to enforce the prohibition of parking at these locations where a white line system is present.

We all share the road, so let’s be responsible and park properly! 🚗
