ONE WEEK TO GO - Financially Motivated Sexual Exploitation (Sextortion) Webinar for Parents / Carers / those working with teens and vulnerable adults - FREE WEBINAR Thu 22nd May 2025 at 1830hrs

There has been an increase in reporting of children and young people, particularly mid teenage males, being financially blackmailed with threats to release nudes or semi-nudes that have been shared. This is financially motivated sexual extortion (FMSE), sometimes referred to as ‘sextortion’, and is a form of child sexual abuse.

In 2024, the National Crime Agency issued an alert to education settings that provides advice on how to :

·        recognise the signs of financially motivated sexual extortion

·        raise awareness and support children to seek help

·        support victims

This webinar is based on that circulated alert and guidance - the webinar is for parents / carers / those who work with young people.

Starting at 1830, we aim to finish at approx 1900h.

This webinar is free of charge, but, in order to receive the Teams Link to join the webinar (which will be emailed out on the day, Thu 22nd May) you will need to register your interest by emailing samantha.hancock@derbyshire.police.uk

Please feel free to share this message to others, via workplaces etc.
