Operation Jetwing completed in Petersow.

Good afternoon all!

I'm please to provide you with an update in relation to the Policing Priority flagged up by Peterstow Parish Council.

Today, the Ross SNT team have been out in Peterstow from 10am, to gather valuable information and to conduct some speed enforcement.  I have had the pleasure of meeting and chatting to local residents and conducting surveys in relation to their concerns and thoughts on speeding in the village, with more people signed up to neighbourhood matters.

The three PC's in our Ross SNT team, have conducted speed enforcement in the village on the A49 in both directions at different spots throughout the village and times of day.  Multiple drivers travelling in excess of the 40mph limit, but by a lesser margin were given words of advice, and those speeding way outside the possibility of speedo error, were issued a ticket.  Despite the multiple signs, and two police cars being clearly visible; one driver passed the speed check at 47mph.

The positive learned however, was that the average speed was in fact 36mph over the extensive amount of vehicles surveyed, so it is our hope that operations such as this will assist moving forwards, with overall reduction of vehicles speeding through the village.

We will continue our efforts, and to take action in relation to speeding in this area and we have been asking for views of residents on the best times to carry this out.

Kind regards,

Simon
