Duke of Norfolk Smart Travel Plan - Afternnon Assembly on Wednesday 14th May

Glossop SNT - School Engagement

PCSO Buller from the Glossop Youth Engagement Team had been invited to  attend an assembly this afternoon at the Duke of Norfolk Church of England Primary School, located on Royle Avenue, Glossop, Wednesday 14th May.

During the assembly, the school presented their initiatives for the upcoming 'Smart Travel Week.' Members of the travel committee, a component of the school council, shared their findings regarding the issues of poor and inconsiderate driving and parking at the Royle Avenue entrance and exit of the school. It was noted that these problems predominantly occur during school drop-off and pick-up times.

We encourage all parents and students to review the attached plans below - for the week commencing 19th May

The school is promoting a walk-to-school initiative, particularly emphasizing 'Walk This Way Wednesday.' This initiative not only supports a healthier lifestyle but also positively impacts the environment. Additionally, it fosters respect for and engagement with the local community, ensuring the safety of pedestrians utilizing the footpath.

Thank you for your support in making their school environment safer and more sustainable.
