Hello Resident
Do you have a landline? If so, are you aware that telephone lines are going digital?
You may have heard of the Digital Switchover which affects all landline customers and will be completed in 2027. This means that landlines will operate from a broadband connection, the reason being that the copper network infrastructure is failing and will eventually be switched off in a few years.
The Neighbourhood Watch Network have been asked by BT to arrange a number of drop-ins to chat to people about this and explain what this will mean when you are invited to switch. For those that have poor or no broadband/mobile signal or depend on a personal health care device, then these events are useful to find out how it work for you. Even if you are not a BT customer, but has a landline with another provider, this is happening to the entire landline network, so please do come along if you wish to understand more.
There is an event near you soon, so please do share this message wider.
Monday 19th May 2025 at Winslow Community Library, Park Road, Winslow, Buckinghamshire, MK18 3DL
Drop-in anytime between 11am and 3pm to chat to our volunteers about this.
Warmest regards, Ros Regional Digital Voice Coordinator (East of England)
