Crime Update

Good evening,

Here is the crime update for 4th May – 12th May:

Lyndon

A BMW 3 series was stolen from Knightsbridge Road. It was recovered by officers later the same day in Olton. The vehicle will be forensically examined to try and identify an offender(s).

A property was broken in to on Summerfield Road whilst the occupants were on holiday. Several electrical items were stolen from within. The offenders gained access by snapping a lock barrel.

Elmdon

A Ford Fiesta was stolen from Damson Lane. The owner still has the keys and there are no signs of any smashed glass. It’s believed the offenders stole the vehicle via keyless methods, most likely a relay device.

A BMW XDrive40 was stolen from Valley Road. The vehicle was found a within a few hours in Olton and recovered for forensic examination.

Offenders tried to break in to a property on Foredrove Lane. The occupant returned home to find the lock damaged. The offenders failed to get in.

It’s believed someone tried to steal a BMW I8. 2 males approached the vehicle and could be seen tampering with the door handle. They were disturbed by the owner and fled. The door handle was left with scratches on it.

Olton

Offenders tried to break in to a property in Fircroft. They have damaged the barrel of the side door lock but were disturbed by the occupants and fled the scene.

Silhill

A rear window of a vehicle was smashed on Union Road. Offenders tried to remove a suitcase from within but they were disturbed by a passerby.

A BMW 5 series was stolen from Laxton Grove. Offenders broke in to the owner’s property and stole the car keys.

Good news

2 of our officers arrested 2 offenders for possession of class A and B drugs, with intent to supply (commonly known as drug dealing). The vehicle the offenders were driving caught the eye of our officers due to the speed it was travelling at. When our officers stopped the vehicle, the passenger made off on foot and threw a bag in to the bushes, which was later found by one of our dogs. Inside the bag was a large amount of drugs, all separated in to small amounts ready to be sold. This, amongst other things, led to the offenders being arrested.

Back in January, we arrested a male as part of an off-road bike operation. This week he was disqualified from driving for 12 months and will have to pass a driving test after that, again. A great result.

This week we have recovered 2 stolen vehicles, both on the same day that they were stolen. One of them was spotted on a proactive patrol. The other was reported to us from a member of the public. Both methods produced the goods. Please continue to report anything you see that isn’t quite right. Sometimes it might be nothing. Sometimes it could be something.

All the best,
