Town Centre Beat update
What a shift - Following reports of Bombers, Spitfires, people in the park with firearms including heavy machine guns and mines and yes, it's 1940s weekend again. Glorious weather, cold beer, every conceivable food option you could wish for and some feller claiming to be Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill insisting he's in charge.
Town beat officers were out both in the town centre and town park over the weekend and are pleased to report it went very smoothly. Like everyone else we had to lookup and photograph both of the flypasts (ticket for speeding in the post 😉) and a bit of a catch-up with a1940s Police Inspector. One of our collegues did her best to catch a Rat and succeeded as per the photo . Had a lot of great conversations with Meltonians who supported the event with, we are reliably informed, up to 8000 people on Saturday and definitely more Today.
Officers and patrols will continue throughout the day and the clear up operation. A big shout out to the Volunteers, Medial Staff and organizers for a fantastic party and roll on next year.
