Officers investigating a report of fraud and distraction theft in Bournemouth are issuing images of two people they would like to identify.
At around 11am on Thursday 6 March 2025 a man and a woman entered the Post Office in Lansdowne Crescent and requested some foreign currency.
It is reported that when the member of the shop staff handed cash to the woman, she shuffled and counted it before changing her mind about the transaction. She handed cash back and left the shop. The member of staff subsequently checked the cash to find that the original amount had not been returned to them. Around 340 Euros was stolen and it was further reported that the man took a phone case from the shop without making an attempt to pay.
Police Constable Alex Ayre, of Bournemouth police, said: “I have continued to investigate this incident and I am now in a position to issue an image of two people we would like to identify as part of my investigation.
“I would urge anyone who recognises them to please make contact with us.”
