Weekly Round-Up

Good Evening Resident,

Here's a quick round up from me and the rest of the Wolverhampton City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Whats Been Happening.

  • Cuppa with a Copper - Once again we were back at Wolverhampton Central Library this week with our PCSO's to host another Cuppa with a Copper. This week we coordinated with staff at the library and held our meeting within their VE Day Celebrations, we had a good turn out and put in some valuable intel reports thanks to your reporting.
  • Arrests - Multiple arrests were made this week. With the help of security staff at Primark who detained a prolific shoplifter and held them until officers arrived to make the arrest. We rely heavily on shop staff and security to be prompt with their reporting of crimes and this just goes to prove that when it works, IT WORKS!
  • Guardian Patrols - As always we are continuing our patrols targeting Anti-Social Behaviour and Violent Crime. These are patrols we carry out multiple times a week, with a positive result on the community. With the warmer weather we have had this week, we have been focusing our patrols on St Peters Gardens with a good outcome. With OP Sceptre coming up for West Midlands Police it is a great opportunity to further our efforts to combat Knife crime within the City Centre, whether this be through knife sweeps around the city or just doing door-to-door visits at local retailers to make sure they know procedures for selling any form of bladed article..
  • Night-Time Economy - Our officers were out and about this Friday and Saturday doing their patrols, we had a very quiet weekend in the city. Officers were on hand to help deal with a major incident that occurred near Bilston with regards to multiple house fires which sadly led to someone losing their life, this led to our PCSO's being sent to monitor the scene throughout the weekend.
  • Purse Dippers - Please see the attached PDF created by WMP with regards to withdrawing money from banks and building societies, and visiting retailers within the City Centre.

Upcoming Events

  • Crime Prevention Stand for half term - Wolverhampton Art Gallery 27/05/25 11am-1pm
  • Cuppa with a Copper - Wolverhampton Art Gallery 06/06/25 1pm-3pm.

Thanks for reading and i hope you enjoy the rest of your week.
