Officers across Derbyshire work tirelessly day in and day out to reduce knife crime in the county, whether thatโs supporting community events, responding to calls of concern, or conducting early intervention work in schools.
As well as this daily commitment, the force also is committed to being involved in national campaigns and targeted work around the issue. Derbyshire Constabulary has remained one of the forces to actively take part in Operation Sceptre, a twice-yearly focus on knife crime highlighting the work being done in the county to prevent and reduce knife crime, such as weapons sweeps and community visits.
During this week we will be getting involved in educational talks with young people, including the Fire Cadets. We will also be conducting knife sweeps in parks and running our own operations behind the scenes to tackle knife crime and educate around people and young persons who may carry knives.
We will also have our knife bin available to drop any knives in - no questions asked! - This is knife amnesty!!

We also need your help! - If you know someone who is thinking about or who already does carry a weapon, please let us know so we can act on this:
