Good evening Resident,
We had a fairly busy day today and some good results to share.
I started by making the biggest drug bust of my career as pictured…
Jokes aside - I know that people recreationally using cannabis in our town centre is off-putting and that is why we utilise our stop and search powers to find and seize it, so it may then be destroyed. In most cases, the owners of said cannabis are suitable for a “Community Resolution". This is where they accept responsibility and are advised accordingly about their actions. Further incidents within a short time period can lead to prosecution, however. This particular individual was eligible and sent on his way.
Last time I checked, cannabis was still a Class B controlled drug and therefore we will continue to take action against its usage in our town.
We moved onto Viaduct Park which is looking lovely…
We made our way to the church and learnt about some of Stockport's history and met my past self…
(It turned out he was actually the same age as me but had been working nights on response his whole career)
The day concluded with a report of theft, whereby a member of staff had her purse stolen from the staff room whilst she was working. The suspect then treated themselves to booze and tobacco at the nearby Asda, at the victim's expense. Thanks to excellent use of StoreNet radio and quick thinking security staff at Asda, the suspect in question was detained for police attendance. We arrived shortly after and made an arrest. The suspect tried to hide the stolen purse and bank card which was eventually found. I am happy to say the stolen items have been returned to the rightful owner and the fraudulentley purchased goods refunded also. The detainee has been handed over to the next shift and I will be sure to update everybody with the outcome of this particular case.
Needless to say this behaviour is totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated. It will be down to the courts to decide her fate now.
That's about all for the time being.
Thanks for reading.
All the best,
Will | ||||||||||
