Welcome to Cleveland Connected for Skelton

Welcome to Cleveland Connected. I am PCSO Adam Bell, Cleveland Police's ward officer for Skelton East and Skelton West wards.

This new service allows your local PCSOs and police officers to update you and others with news and information specific to your ward area, including activities in which we have been involved.

The system allows direct communication between police and the public, meaning that if you wish to inform police of anything that does not need officially reporting, it can be communicated directly to us. We can view and respond to messages and keep you updated with our actions.

Since the beginning of May, I have been supported by colleagues to address shoplifting incidents at Skelton Retail Park and at Sainsbury’s Local on Byland Road. Home Bargains had a high value theft on 5th May and through reviewing CCTV footage I identified a person as being responsible. I added this identification to the crime record and the suspect is now being sought for arrest and should be brought before the courts in due course. I am focusing on shopliftings at the moment due to a recent increase in reports to police and hearsay evidence from the shops themselves. Antisocial behaviour continues to be an issue and will likely increase as we get closer to summer. We will therefore be paying close attention to known ASB hotspots, but we always appreciate calls from the public on 101 or 999 when issues occur so that we can deal with those involved properly.
