Blythe Crime update.


Dear Resident,

Here are the Reported Crimes on Blythe between Thursday 1st May – Friday 9th May 2025.

Burglary.

On the 2/05/25 at 356am a burglary was reported on Besford Grove Monkspath. Offenders gained entry to the rear garden then lock snapped a side door. Entry was gained and two BMW’s were stolen with keys. One has been recovered for forensics. 

Attempted Burglaries.

On the 6/05/25 at 3.21am offenders have gained access to a rear garden on Caldeford Avenue, Monkspath. Rear patio doors were damaged, no access gained.

On the 6/05/25 5.10am three offenders have attempted to open a side door to a residence on Rushford Close, Monkspath. No entry was gained.

On the 6/05/25 between 6.43am -7.00am rear patio doors were lock snapped on Coppice Close, Cheswick Green. No entry was gained.

Theft of motor vehicle.

On the 1/05/25 at 00.15am a grey Ford Focus was stolen without keys from Elkington Croft, Monkspath. A Relay device was used to pick up the signal from the key fob, and allow the vehicle to be opened and started. Please store vehicle keys in a Faraday pouch. 

On the 4/05/25 1.05am a red Yamaha motor cycle was stolen off the driveway on Fulford Hall Road.

Theft from motor vehicle.

On the 1/05/25 between 9.15-9.45 pm the front bumper from a VW Transporter with fog lights was stolen from from Lowbrook Lane Tidbury Green.

Good News.

St. Alphege and Blythe Officers arrested a male who was a suspect for two knife point robberies. He had boarded a bus in Solihull Town Centre. His arrest has led to a further arrest of another suspect. 

 

Please fit a steering lock as an extra layer of security to protect your keyless entry vehicle. Relay scanning devices are being used.

 

Please set your alarm if fitted. Leave lights on or use light timers. Never leave your house in darkness. 

Ongoing patrols are continuing. Thank you to the residents who are helping Police with their investigations. 

Please use anti-tamper screws available from most vehicle spares shops to secure your number plates securely to your vehicle.

  • If you are considering installing or upgrading your CCTV, ensure that any system allows you to achieve the following:
  • Any images should be recorded onto a secure system and be held for a minimum of 31 days.

  • Ensure that all shrubs and hedges do NOT encroach the maximum height of 1m and Tree canopies are lifted to 1.8m. This allows for maximum natural surveillance.

  • Ensure that all fences are the same height as smaller fencing abutting higher fencing acts as a potential climbing aid for offenders.

  • Ensure that all garden furniture is stored away in a garden shed along with any tools to avoid aiding offenders in committing burglary.

  • Ensure that Wheelie Bins are not stored near to fences and are chained together to prevent them from being used as climbing aids or storing objects in that may aid an offender to commit a crime.
