Advice

Think like a burglar to keep your property safe. Is your home safe and protected against burglars?

These tips are a good place to start:

Fortress not flimsy - Always secure your doors and windows, even when you're at home. A locked entry point is the first line of defence against opportunistic thieves.

Beware the “friendly face" - if someone approaches your door unexpectedly, be cautious. Don't let a seemingly friendly conversation distract you.

Strength in numbers - Consider joining a Neighbourhood watch scheme. Your vigilance deters criminals and fosters a sense of security for everyone.

See and be seen - Invest in visible deterrents like security lights, burglar alarms, and CCTV/Ring door bell camera. A well-lit property and the presence of security measures can discourage burglars from even attempting a break in.

Eyes and ears of the community - Report any suspicious activity to us on 101. This could be anything from unfamiliar individuals loitering around your neighbourhood to suspicious activity around nearby properties.

Quick actions saves the day - If you witness a crime in progress, or if your home is being broken into, dial 999. We'll respond immediately to such reports. Giving us every chance to prevent a burglary and catch those responsible.

By taking these precautions and working together with us, you can significantly reduce your risk of falling victim to crime. Remember to stay security-conscious !
