Appeal for witnesses and information following robbery in Southampton


We are appealing for witnesses and information following a reported robbery on Argyle Road, Southampton between 3am and 4am on Tuesday 6 May.

During the incident, the victim – a man in his 30s from Southampton - was near to the junction with Nichol Road when he was approached by an unknown man.

The man was reportedly in possession of a knife, which he was holding down by his side. He then moved aggressively towards the victim, leaving him to fear he may be assaulted.

The victim’s iPhone and £90 in cash were stolen during the incident.

The man we’d like to speak to in connection with this incident is described as;

• Asian
• Approximately 5ft 7ins tall
• Average build
• Long black hair
• Long black beard
• Wearing a black brimless hat, black jacket and black trousers

Officers, who have been carrying out extensive enquiries since the incident was first reported, are keen to hear from anyone with any information which may assist in their investigation.
