“There has recently been reports of an anonymous account on Facebook contacting members of the public. The account has been using social media to send hurtful messages and threats to members of the public.

 

If you receive a message from an anonymous account online, please report this to the police and block the account that is sending the messages. You may also find it beneficial to report the account to the relevant website or social media platform.

 

If you can collect any screenshots of the messages, or any details about the individuals profile, the following can be useful to us:

  • Username 
  • User ID
  • Which platform or app was used 
  • When this happened 
  • Details of what was sent (words, video, voice note etc)
