Theft of Motor Vehicle- Upper Shott Road, Cheshunt

Dear Resident

Between Friday 2nd April 2025 to Wednesday 7th May 2025 a theft of motor vehicle occurred on Eleanor Cross road. The circumstances of the theft is that offender has approached the victims vehicle that was secure and parked and by unknown means has stolen it. The vehicle that was stolen is a ford transit.

Here are some tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Don't leave car keys fobs by the doors. keep them in a faraday bag or box.

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.
