Theft from motor vehicles are often opportunistic and offenders, hoping that the vehicle is unlocked, will try door handles. Please remain vigilant, ensure all doors are locked and that you do not leave valuables inside your vehicles.
Your mobile phone, coins for the car park, sunglasses, packs of medication or other items that can earn quick cash are irresistible to the opportunist thief.
Make sure to physically check that doors and window are locked, especially if you have used the remote to lock the vehicle, then look inside again to make sure you’ve not left anything on display, including ensuring that your glove box is closed.
Vans are often targeted by thieves for the tools stored inside. If you must leave tools in a van overnight, it's a good idea to mark them clearly with your name / company name and address using paint pens and seal with a clear lacquer spray. Items that are clearly marked are less desirable and more difficult to sell on. | ||||
