Staffordshire Police has been made aware of a roofing company knocking on  doors at residential properties on Boley Park and claiming that the owner's property is in urgent need of a repair ro their ridge tiles on their roof They offer to do the job as they have time at a reasonable rate.   Once this has been agreed, the work soon grows to a greater emergency requiring further work and even the whole roof requiring re-tiling.

Basic research suggests that it is estimated that a three bedroom detached  house would cost between five thousand and ten thousand pounds depending on factors such as the materials, the roof size, accessibility or additional workrequired.  A property on Boley Park was charged eighteen thousand pounds for the work done to replace their tiles.  

You are strongly advised not to accept work done by a cold caller without researching their company and getting three quotes from other companies, getting quotes from three companies is the usual recommendation.   Be aware of the tactics of fraudsters creating an emergency for you and presenting themselves as the solution to your problem which may not have existed in the first place. They will possibly tell you that they are working close by to make you think they are a credible company because someone else nearby is using them, this is often not the case.
