Today Officers from Bridgnorth safer neighbour hood team have visited Worfield Church who were holding a coffee morning to celebrate the 80th anniversary marking the end of the second world war in Europe . Pc Loftus and Pcso Leek were invited to attend the event in Worfield . We engaged with members of the community and discussed a few local concerns . We were able to answer question on what has been going on in the area over the last few months and ways we have been tackling some of the issues such as hare coursing and theft from outbuildings. Several operations have taken place which have involved safer neighbour hoods officers from our neighbouring teams in South Shropshire helping us out .
It wasn't all about issues it was also about listening to some of the war stories the residents of the village had and were very interesting . One lady arrived who had just celebrated her 103rd Birthday which is quite an achievement .There were several others who had reached their late 90s also, the bonus was the lovely cup of coffee and the offer of cake which all looked lovely but we managed to resist ( trying to get summer body ready ) . We had a really enjoyable morning and look forward to speaking with residents again soon at the Parish Council meeting on the 27th May .
Kind regards
Bridgnorth safer neighbourhoods team
