Pewley Hill

A burglar has taken a ladder from next door’s builders and broken in through an upstairs bedroom window and then having gained internal access has forced the property’s back door open to allow his accomplices   inside as well. A full search of the property has then taken place with a safe (weighing 175kg) being found in a wardrobe, but independently bolted down to the floor. Using crow bars, jemmies and other tools, have smashed the wardrobe and rolled the safe from its mountings to the top of the stairs and just pushed it down the stairs, which caused much damage to the stair case’s wall plastering. The house does have a burglar alarm but it wasn’t set because of the family dog being at home. A wheel barrow from the garden was then used to take the safe to the burglar’s vehicle.

An informant has reported a group of youths riding a motorbike up and down the road, revving the engine loudly, causing distress to residents.

A Speed Watch informant has witnessed youths riding e-bikes, in one case, up to 52mph in a 30mph zone and in a reckless manor doing ‘wheelies’ etc wearing balaclavas and hoodies, but not crash helmets.
