Neighbourhood Watch Network is currently working in collaboration with E.ON Next in organising a number of advice/information events across the country to inform people about changes to certain types of electricity meter, and specifically those that rely upon what is known as the Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS). This old-style meter is still used by a substantial number of people which involves a service that communicates with the electricity meter which tells it when to switch between peak and off-peak tariffs. The RTS is now reaching the end of its operational life and the technology that supports it will be switched off on the 30th June 2025. The switch off will affect every customer who has a RTS meter in their home, and may mean their heating and hot water supply stops functioning as normal. RTS is an industry-wide service. All electricity suppliers are contacting impacted customers to offer them a smart meter upgrade. You may know someone who still uses the Radio Teleswitch Service. If you would like to know more, details of an informal ‘drop-in’ advice session given below: Thursday 15th May 10am until 2pm Hertford Library, Dolphin Yard, Maidenhead Street, Hertford SG14 1DR All welcome… | ||||
