Update from the weekend

#UPDATE | At around 7.40pm on Sunday evening, we received a report regarding the potential abduction of a man in the Hyde area of Tameside.

Officers immediately responded and began an intensive investigation as they sought to establish the full circumstances and facts of the incident.

This included the arrest of a man on suspicion of abduction and, the following day, the execution of a warrant by armed officers in Meadowfield Court, Hyde.

Following extensive work, officers believe that no abduction took place, with no wider threat to the public. A male has since been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and enquiries are ongoing.
