Theft of Motor Vehicle - St Johns Close

Dear Resident

Between 7th May 8.45pm and 8th May 3am a theft of a grey Mitsubishi Outlander occurred from residents parking on St Johns Close.

Vehicle was parked unattended in the parking area at the location, offenders have entered the vehicle by unknown means and driven off in an unknown direction.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.
