Theatre of Hope

You are warmly invited to a pioneering theatre performance devised from the wisdom and experiences of those in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. Its purpose? To enable the men from Elisha House Recovery Community in Colne, together with you the audience, to explore the issues. There’ll be key focuses, such as the experiences of parents of young people who are addicts or on the road to addiction. We’ll explore strategies to prevent relapse of those in addiction etc. There’ll be acting, music, movement, discussion and we’ll not only highlight the dangers of drug use, but also create a space in which to delve deep into the complexity of addiction.

We’ll be using elements of forum theatre and so we’ll be ‘breaking the fourth wall’, giving audience members opportunity to be interactive, share their experiences, but only if you wish. You may want to come and share your thoughts, offer suggestions, or simply just sit back and take it all in – there’ll be no pressure on anyone.
