Police; Priority Update - Drugs

Good evening Rutland,

Just a quick update from your Uppingham Town Beat Officer.

I have been away on my driving course for the last month and I am happy to say I passed the course. I am now looking forward to being able to respond on blue lights and get to those emergency calls a bit quicker!

Whilst I have been away, Uppingham has been left in the capable hands of the rest of the Rutland team who have all pitched in to assist with the beat.

Returning on Wednesday afternoon last week I got right back to it. PCSO Lyall and I stopped a vehicle suspected to be involved to be bringing drugs into the county, after a search of the driver and his vehicle, the male was promptly arrested and taken to a cell for the evening

On Friday, another vehicle suspected to be bringing drugs into the county was stopped… halfway through completing a drug deal with a local resident, I don’t think either were expecting to see me

A search of this vehicle was completed and a quantity of drugs and cash was found.

I dropped the suspect off to his cell for the night in Leicester and then drove off area to complete a search of the suspect’s house. This search led to a large amount of drugs, scales and dealer bags being seized and prevented from reaching the streets

Over four hours late off over my bank holiday weekend but another good result made it all worthwhile

PC GEORGE
