Residential burglary at Okeford Drive Tring .


Dear Resident

A Residential burglary took place on Okeford Drive on the 1st May between 0100 - 0300 hrs.

Victim has reported that he has been getting building work done on his property and during the night an unknown suspect male has entered through the side gate and has stolen building tools from the extension. 
The exact value of these tools is unknown at this time. The RP has a number of security camera that will have picked up the suspect during the incident. 

Please contact the police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime number 41/39625/24 if you or your neighbours have any information relating to this crime. Alternatively, you can give information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Please be vigilant and do report any suspicious activity or behaviour in the area.

Tips to prevent burglary:

  • Check downstairs windows and doors are securely locked before you leave or go to bed. 

  • Use a “Fake TV” or timer switches on lamps to give the impression someone is at home.

  • Don’t leave keys, phones or other valuables on windowsills or in any other visible place.

  • Secure UPVC doors by lifting the handle and locking it to engage the security features.

  • Consider using a doorbell camera, interior camera or a monitored burglar alarm. 

  • Securely lock rear gates, sheds and garages. 

  • Keep tools and ladders locked away, as they could be used to break into your home.
