Keeping Safe in Warm Weather

Hello Latchford

The month of May presents us with two Bank Holidays, coupled with warm weather we always receive a greater amount of calls to the emergency services due to people swimming in inappropriate open water.

As the weather starts to get warmer, please keep yourselves and your families safe.

We want to make sure that everyone is aware of the dangers of swimming in open water such as canals, lakes, rivers, reservoirs, and quarries.

The water in these areas may look inviting on a hot day, however, there are hidden dangers below the surface. The water will still be cold and can very quickly affect stamina/strength of even the most confident of swimmers.

Please see the below link from Cheshire Fire & Rescue on Water Safety:-  Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service - Water safety

Kind regards
