Burglary - Residential Watford Road, Kings Langley,


Dear Resident

 

Between 02/05/2025 01:00 a burglary took place at Watford Road, Kings Langley,

 

Between material times unknown offenders have attended the location and made entry to the property by the balcony doors located on the second floor. The doors were locked and have been forced open with an unknown object. 
The property is a large, detached house which faces onto quiet road with a few other properties and the rear backs onto a main road.  the property is gated all the way round without authorised access you can not gain access other than jumping over a fence.
the victim was away for the night with his wife and the daughter was at work and didn’t return till 0400 hours when 
0400 hours when she turned home she noticed a messy searched has been conducted and phone her parents. 
They returned home and awaited police to arrive.

Tips to prevent burglary:  

 

  • Check downstairs windows and doors are securely locked before you leave or go to bed.   

  • Secure UPVC doors by lifting the handle and locking it to engage the security features.   

  • Don’t leave keys, phones or other valuables on windowsills or in any other visible place.  

  • Securely lock rear gates, sheds and garages.   

  • Keep tools and ladders locked away, as they could be used to break into your home.   

  • Use laminate glass where possible for any rear doors or windows. If this is not practicable, consider the use of security film over existing windows.   

  • Use a “Fake TV” or timer switches on lamps to give the impression someone is at home.  

  • Consider using a doorbell camera, interior camera, or a monitored burglar alarm.   

  • Consider adding trellis to any side or rear boundaries to add extra height up to a maximum of 2 metres.  

  •
