Good Afternoon,
As outdoor activities and camping are on most peoples minds, thanks to the lovely weather we are having i just want to make you aware of the increase in TENTBOX thefts we are seeing. It is essential to ensure that your belongings are secure. Here are some valuable tips to help keep your Tentboxes safe during your adventures.
Get your TentBox insuredFor the ultimate peace of mind, you may want to consider getting your TentBox insured.
Use security nutsSecurity Nuts are a great option to decrease the chance of theft. As they require a specialised socket to install and remove, they cannot be removed with normal spanners making it harder for a thief to disconnect your TentBox from your roof bars.
Tag your TentBox with DatatagThe Datatag Security Kit provides your TentBox with a unique identity number registered on a secure database that’s accessible to police forces globally - all day, every day. It's a comprehensive kit with simple DIY install-at-home instructions. The Kit allows for the structure of your TentBox to be marked by combining state-of-the-art identification technology, such as the Datadot® identification system only visible with a magnifying glass, and the new “stealth” ultraviolet (UV) chemical etching technology to create hidden markings that police know to look out for. Thieves will notice that your TentBox is tagged, which will act as a major deterrent.
Install a security alarmInstalling the TentBox Security Alarm to your TentBox is a sure fire way to scare any thieves off in the event of an attempted theft. This compact and powerful 113dB alarm system will keep your beloved TentBox safe and secure whether you're out adventuring or parked at home. Here is a list of features you'll love, find out more here. Loud deterrent: after arming, touching the alarm or removing the TentBox from your car will cause a very loud sound (113dB) to be emitted. Easy-to-install: simply attach to the bottom of your TentBox with the included adhesive strips. Remote controlled: arm and disarm using the remote. A beeping sound will signal that the alarm is armed. Discrete: the alarm is hard to notice, and even if noticed it will emit a very loud noise when touched.
Lock your TentBox in a closed positionIf you are concerned about keeping your TentBox locked in the closed position, the best bet is to use some lockable straps. These act like large bike locks, and can be wrapped over your TentBox to stop anyone from opening it.

Thank You Gayle
